Ballet des Amériques Conservatory Auditions for 2018-2019 School Year
Westchester area students can now experience serious dance education without traveling to Manhattan. Conveniently located next to the Port Chester stop on the MTA New Haven line, Ballet des Amériques is accessible to students in Westchester and Connecticut via train.
Ballet des Amériques prides itself in its school and conservatory program. Under the direction of Artistic Director, Carole Alexis, students are given serious training with the possibility of them becoming professional dancers. The school only accepts up to 120 students, so dancers may receive more individual attention and personalized corrections from the artistic staff.
The conservatory program is six days a week, which includes classes in: ballet, pre-pointe, pointe, barre au sol, acrobatics, modern dance, African-Caribbean dance, character dance, flamenco, and music. The conservatory schedule interacts well with students’ academics, allowing students to complete homework before attending evening classes. Classes will teach students terminology, etiquette, and help them cultivate a strong work ethic. The school’s syllabus is deep-seated in the French tradition of ballet training with emphasis in creating proper technique, alignment, clean lines, elegance, and respect for the art and your teachers.
Advanced students may be invited to audition to become a trainee with the professional company. Students in the conservatory have the opportunity to perform in joint productions between the school and the professional company.
We invite you to visit our website for further information. To schedule an audition class, please email [email protected] or call us at 646-753-0457.
