Balance In The Garden | Hammond Museum and Japanese Stroll Garden

The second annual sculpture show at the Hammond Museum & Japanese Scroll Garden is again curated by Bibiana Huang Matheis, and is on view from April 25 to October 27. The 2018 outdoor exhibit features the work of eight sculptors, each working within the theme of Balance, which carries multiple meanings. Balance is both a physical and spiritual phenomena. Every three-dimensional sculpture requires balance to stand, just as we do as people, but also to manage every aspect of our existence. This show is a strong, gentle whisper in the garden ­­­– the balance of all things, weak and strong, big and small. The symbolism is about the balance between humans and nature, form and shape, the dialogue between each other, and the presence of balance within ourselves and our surroundings.
