Exuberant colors, ornate patterns, and lush interiors are hallmarks of Gilded-Age taste. Assistant Curator Ted Barrow leads the Museum’s 4th Annual Glenview Lecture by looking more closely at the culture that contributed to Glenview’s singular place in Yonkers, connecting the context of urban bustle, Centennial Expositions, and over-stimulation—then known as neurasthenia—the Victorian condition of lassitude.
