Artist Talk: “Feast and Famine” Presented by Dr. Jill Kiefer
Throughout the history of art there are powerful works addressing feast and famine, abundance and scarcity, nourishment and hunger. In this program, we’ll journey through time to explore some amazing creations focused on delicious foods, the people who harvest them, and those who have need of them. Artists we look at will include Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Giuseppe Arcimboldo, Caravaggio, Camille Pissarro, Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, and many others.
This program is a complement to the OAC Hungers/Harvests Exhibition at BAC. It will be held in-person at BAC, Covid permitting and following CDC and NYS safety guidelines.
Registration is required. Space will be limited.
