Here is the artist’s statement about her show:
Celebration of Life
I dedicate my Art Exhibit to my son Max who has forever inspired me to be the best that I can. He always said, “ You’re the best mom ever” and I feel his
presence in my heart and soul. My paintings and drawings encompass and captures those special moments in my life. These are moments that have special meanings, they are family, friends, or special places or events.
I attended High School or Art and Design where I majored in Illustration and Advertising and had the best instructors. Leaving Art behind, I attended college
with majors in Education and Social work, retiring as a school administrator in 2011. After visiting art galleries and museums, I was inspired to return to drawing and to try oil painting. I’ve worked with some great mentors who guided me as I learned about color, composition, techniques and how to work with oils. I respect the works of Renoir, Monet, Cassatt, Degas as well as contemporary artists.
I’ve lived in the Rivertowns for the past 20 years and presently reside in Dobbs Ferry.
Everyone is an artist; you just have to find your voice and what speaks to you!
