Art Exhibition: “MonoChroma”
“MonoChroma”
May 16 – June 18
Opening Reception: Saturday, May 20, 4-8 p.m.
On view now, “Monochroma” is a sophisticated exhibition in an elegant palette of black, white and grays. Featuring glass art by Moshe Bursuker, photographs by Larry Davis, and paintings by Norman Galinksy, the show delights viewers with complex and appealing art that blends contrast with harmony, and dynamism with restraint. The exhibition is on view at Chroma Fine Art Gallery now through June 18, with an Opening Reception on May 20 from 4-8pm.
Moshe Bursuker has been mastering the production of one-of-a-kind glass objects for over 20 years. He is committed to both the aesthetic and scientific properties of his craft. Bursuker honors the natural qualities of glass; and crafts with ingenuity, care, and attention. In addition to his modern sensibility, he cultivates a deep desire to bring innovative techniques to his medium. His fluid and inspired works are beautiful to behold and functional to use.
The photographs on display by Larry Davis may be small in scale, but they deliver a big impact. Each 3×3” print is a masterpiece of composition, design, and graphic balance. The abstract photographs displays great depth and complexity. “I’ve admired Larry’s work for years,” says curator Rita Baunok citing their longtime working relationship. “Each photograph is a treasure; his tonality is gorgeous! I especially love the nuanced quality he achieves in those white-on-white prints.”
Norman Galinsky’s intricate, large-scale paintings defy verbal description. “They need to be seen in person,” explains Rita Baunok. Galinsky applies repetitive marks free-hand onto canvases. The accumulated marks develop into stunning patterns reminiscent of infinite cosmic systems, pulsing solar mandalas, or taut geometric threads that expand and contract. Stemming from a career in science/chemical engineering, and a 30-year energetic healing practice (including Qigong), his worke aims to “connect the material world and the hidden quantum universe.”
