Arc Stages Queer Play Reading Circle, January 17

Join us Saturday, January 17th at 11am for our Cold Reads & Coffee Queer Play Reading Circle! We’ll be reading The Normal Heart by Larry Kramer.

About the play:

A searing drama about public and private indifference to the AIDS plague and one man’s lonely fight to awaken the world to the crisis, The Normal Heart was based on Kramer’s real-life experience. The play centers on Ned Weeks, a gay activist enraged at the indifference of public officials and the gay community. While trying to save the world from itself, Ned confronts the personal toll of AIDS when his lover dies of the disease.

Feel free to read a role or simply listen. Scripts and snacks will be provided. Allies are welcome and encouraged to join!
This event is free of charge and for ages 18+. Please note: The Normal Heart contains mature language and content. Contact [email protected] if you have any questions.

Next up: We’ll be reading Our Dear Dead Drug Lord by Alexis Scheer on Saturday, February 14th at 11am. We look forward to seeing you there!

Please note: Roles will not be precast. This is a casual gathering and we will distribute reading assignments, scene by scene, in the moment.
