Antioch Church will host a joyous Jazz Vespers service as a means to connect with the community to celebrate Juneteenth. With help from Andromeda Turre, who has organized the prior two Juneteenth celebrations in the Town of Bedford, the evening will present master bassist Richie Goods and his band as well as highlight Juneteenth history, inspirational readings, art and a homily on music as soul food. Following the vespers service, attendees will be invited across the street to the Bedford Hills Community House for a culinary arts presentation from Chef Crysta Jones. She will share samplings of food inspired by The Antioch Church Cookbook which contains family recipes of former and present Antioch members. Food trucks will also be available along with arts and crafts for youth attendees.
