Annual Holiday Tree Lighting & An Evening of Holiday Jazz

The Untermyer Performing Arts Council is pleased to announce our Annual Tree Lighting and Evening of Holiday Jazz will be held Friday, December 2nd at 5:00 p.m. at Untermyer Park. This evening continues UPAC’s decades long tradition of hosting our community tree lighting and bringing musical entertainment to our park.
The evening, emceed by Reverend Steven Lopez, features performances by our Yonkers Idols and a visit from our favorite resident of the North Pole, Santa Claus!
After the outdoor festivities, capped by lighting our holiday tree, the entertainment moves inside for hot chocolate, light refreshments and entertainment by the Eric Katz Jazz Trio. Katz, a jazz vibraphonist, has been part of the area’s jazz scene for many years. He performs regularly with his own trio, at a variety of popular spots throughout Westchester. His trio, rounded out by Alec Safy on bass and Mike Camacho on drums, loves to perform a varied collection of favorite jazz holiday standards and original compositions.
UPAC also is asking attendees to open their hearts to support our toy drive for the children in the Leake & Watts Foster Care Program. We ask each person bring an unwrapped toy to help us bring the Christmas spirit to each deserving child, putting a smile of joy on each child’s face.
