Angelica Presents “From Celtic Shores: Songs from Scotland and Ireland”


Angelica Women’s Chamber Choir, directed by Marie Caruso, presents “From Celtic Shores: Songs from Scotland and Ireland” this May in Westchester. The program features arrangements of traditional Celtic melodies, such as “The Skye Boat Song” and the old Jacobite air “Loch Lomond”; settings of medieval texts by composer Michael McGlynn, including “Maid in the Moor” and “Nobilis Humilis” from the Orkney Islands; as well as American and Canadian compositions inspired by Celtic immigrants, including an arrangement of “Black Is the Color of My True Love’s Hair” by Nathaniel Adams.
