An Reading with Donna Masini, Lynn McGee, and Daniel Tobin


Donna Masini is the author of three books of poems—4:30 Movie (W.W. Norton and Co., 2018), Turning to Fiction (Norton 2004), That Kind of Danger (Beacon Press, 1994)—and a novel, About Yvonne (Norton,1998). Her work has appeared in journals and anthologies including Poetry, Ploughshares, American Poetry Review, Paris Review, Pushcart Prize, Brooklyn Poets, Best American Poetry 2015. A recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts and New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships, she is a Professor of English at Hunter College where she teaches in the MFA Creative Writing program.

Daniel Tobin is the author of eight books of poems, most recently Blood Labors (Four Way Books, 2018), as well as The Stone in the Air, his suite of versions from the German of Paul Celan (Salmon Poetry, 2018). Among his awards are the Massachusetts Book Award in Poetry, “The Discovery/​The Nation Award,” The Robert Penn Warren Award, the Greensboro Review Prize, the Robert Frost Fellowship, the Katherine Bakeless Nason Prize, the Julia Ward Howe Prize, the Stephen J. Meringoff Award in Poetry, and creative writing fellowships in poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts and the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation. He teaches at Emerson College in Boston.

Lynn McGee is the author of the poetry collection Tracks, forthcoming from Broadstone Books in 2019; Sober Cooking (Spuyten Duyvil Press, 2016), and two award-winning poetry chapbooks: Heirloom Bulldog (Bright Hill Press, 2015) and Bonanza (Slapering Hol Press, , 1996). Lynn earned an MFA at Columbia University, where she held merit and teaching fellowships. Her work has been published widely, in journals including the Potomac ReviewThe American Poetry ReviewSouthern Poetry ReviewOntario ReviewPhoebePainted Bride Quarterly and many others. Today she is a communications manager at Borough of Manhattan Community College, The City University of New York. She lives in the Bronx, New York.
