An Israeli Love Story
An Israeli Love Story is based on the actual love affair between Palestinian actress/director Pnina Gary and Eli Ben-Zvi, son of author Rachel Yanait and Yitzhak Ben-Zvi, Israel’s second president. During the turbulent period of pre-state Israel, the two young people meet on a bus. Distracted by work, Eli fails to ask for a date. Eventually history moves on, true love flowers, and the couple set a date for their wedding—but Israel’s harsh reality intervenes.
