Alexis Morrast

Alexis Jessica Morrast youngest of six, singer/song writer; a 17 year old phenom, native of Newark, now residing in Plainfield, New Jersey began singing  at the age of three.  Since that time she’s performed on several stages; the U.S. OPENS, NJPAC with Christian McBride, Dizzy’s Coca-Cola Club with jazz legend Barry Harris and Apollo Music Cafe.  Her resounding tone can be heard on the Millennium Stage of The Kennedy Center, abroad in Cape Town South Africa and for the BBC; shockingly this list only names a few venues she’s graced!

Being so young she’s had experiences and opportunities from sitting in to working with greats like Ray Chew, Bernard Purdie and the incredible Bertha Hope.  She studied under Conrad Herwig and took part in several jazz festivals meeting and greeting countless musicians and performers: Dionne Warwick, Brandford Marsalis, Randy Weston, Johnathan Butler, Spyra Gyra, and many others leaving her humbled and striving for her best!

Miss Alexis has been featured and interviewed in several articles from The Wall Street Journal, front page of local publications to international newspapers, radio and the televised Expresso Morning Show in South Africa!  She is not only a two time Amateur Night Winner at The Apollo but she also Won “Showtime At The Apollo,” which aired on Fox TV and was hosted by Steve Harvey!  Not to be complacent she continued studying and working hard; becoming the recipient of the 2017 HOT HOUSE Magazine “The Best UP and Coming Young Artist Award” and most recently toured Austria.

PJS is thrilled to welcome Alexis Morrast to our stage on February 10, 2019!
