A Jazz Tribute to John Shearer

Join us in the gallery for this jazz tribute to John Shearer featuring saxophonist Alison Shearer and pianist Pete Malinverni.

Called “a force on the rise” by JazzTimes magazine, Alison Shearer’s explosive career hits refresh on what it means to be a jazz saxophonist today. Alison’s 2022 album, “View From Above”, for which Alison wrote all ten tracks, is a blend of jazz, funk, and soul. The album was named JazzTimes Editor’s Choice, and one of NPR’s Jazz Night in America’s Top Ten Albums of 2022. Alison has played venues across New York City and beyond, including at Joe’s Pub, Rockwood Music Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center and the Blue Note.
