999: The Forgotten Girls
Artist Talk | Film | Lectures
“999” uncovers the hidden story of 999 young Jewish women, registered for government work, who were sent to Auschwitz. Through the voices of 94-year-old Edith Grosman—#1970—and a few other survivors, the film reveals the truth behind the First Official Jewish Transport to Auschwitz, a largely overlooked chapter of women’s history.
Based on the international bestseller 999: The Extraordinary Young Women of the First Official Jewish Transport to Auschwitz, the documentary sheds light on this historic #MeToo story. A Q&A with filmmaker and author Heather Dune Macadam will follow, with books available for sale and signing.
