75th Anniversary of D-Day

On May 31 the Alliance Francaise de Westchester will host a film screening to honor the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. Rear Admiral Samuel Cox, a retired naval officer will give a talk at the beginning of the event. Afterwards there will be a screening of the director’s cut “D-Day’s Sunken Secrets.” Sylvain Pascaud, the films’ chief writer will make a special appearance for a Q&A.

This film is a compelling English adaptation of a documentary which was featured on the PBS show “NOVA”. It was also aired on “Thalassa”, a French television series on channel France 3.

“D-Day’s Sunken Secrets” analyzes the advanced technology behind the one of the most dangerous military operations in history. This acclaimed film follows dive teams, submarines and underwater robots as they discover the craft that was attacked by the Germans.

The documentary also interviews veterans who share first-hand accounts of their experience.

Guests will also be invited to discuss their thoughts over a glass of wine.
