Emerson String Quartet concert

The world-renowned Emerson String Quartet stands apart in the history of string quartets with an unparalleled list of achievements over more than three decades.  It returns for its 15th appearance on our series with its newest member, the Welsh cellist Paul Watkins, whom we first welcomed in 2013 shortly after he joined the group.  The scheduled program includes Beethoven’s Quartet in A Major, Opus 18, No. 5; Shostokovich’s Quartet No. 10 in A-flat Major, Opus 118; and Brahms’ String Quartet in A minor, Opus 51, No. 2.
