Race Issues In Mark Twain’s Books: Community Conversations

|

Since their publications more than 150 years ago, “Tom Sawyer” and “Huck Finn” have been controversial. They’ve been, banned from libraries, condemned by critics of all backgrounds, and criticized for presenting rebellious role models to kids. These community conversations, led by David Peters, will explore the history that Twain, an abolitionist, was portraying and how that portrayal impacts today’s young and adult readers. Free. Registration not required.
