HVWC Reading: An evening of Poetry & Music with Bob Holman and Papa Susso

|

Please join us for an evening of African music and spoken word poetry with Bob Holman, founder of Bowery Poetry Club, and Papa Susso, a poet/musician, Keeper of the West African Oral Tradition. Holman was described by Henry Louis Gates Jr. as “the postmodern promoter who has done more to bring poetry to cafes and bars than anyone since Ferlinghetti.” In 2010, Holman founded the Endangered Language Alliance. Please check your local PBS listings to see his special, “Language Matters,” produced by David Grubin.
