Book Signing with Ilyasah Shabazz
On Thursday, January 8th at 6:30 pm The Voracious Reader will host a book signing party for “X: A Novel”, the fictionalized account of the boy who became Malcolm X, written by his daughter Ilyasah Shabazz with Kekla Magoon. Ms. Shabazz is a community organizer, activist and author; “X: A Novel” is for Young Adults, ages 14 and up and is receiving wide acclaim. Meet the author and hear about this riveting and revealing novel, which follows the journey of Malcolm X from childhood to imprisonment for theft at age 20, when he found the faith that would lead him to forge a new path. Event charge is $30, which includes a copy of the book and appetizers; cash bar for beverages.
