World Music of Nana
Nana Simopoulos, one of the foremost composers of world fusion music, and the international all-star musical ensemble, World Music of Nana, will perform a dazzling concert of original music that crosses cultural boundaries. With influences from Greece, India, South America, Austria, Africa and more, she will be performing on sitar, guitar, bouzouki and vocals, with Charlie Tokarz on saxophones and flute, Dan Broad on bass, Spiros Pantazatos on tablas and percussion, and Caryn Heilman on frame drums and vocals. The music of Ms. Simopoulos has been recorded on acclaimed albums and performed in venues around the world, including the Ruben Museum of Art, Symphony Space, the Kennedy Center, Merkin Hall, Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and numerous international music festivals. She has composed many commissions for theater, dance and films over the past 20 years, including the music for the Tony award winning Acting Company’s adaptation of American Dreams, Lost and Found.
