Sherlock Holmes Film Festival

|

Join The Three Garridebs, members of the Westchester scion of The Baker Street Irregulars, for their third annual film festival celebrating Sherlock Holmes, Dr. John H. Watson, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The line-up will include John Barrymore’s silent film, Sherlock Holmes and film starring Basil Rathbone as Holmes. A variety of Holmes-related shorts, clips, cartoons and such will round out the lively program.

The name of The Three Garridebs, founded in 1973, is taken from the title of one of the stories in The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes.  The members are devotees of Sherlock Holmes who enjoy studying The Master (Holmes), his era, and related topics – and having fun doing it.  As Sherlockians, their primary focus is the Canon – 56 short stories and 4 novels written (mostly) by Dr. John H. Watson and published with the assistance of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. “The game,” as it’s known, assumes that Holmes and Watson actually lived and that Doyle was Watson’s literary agent.
