The Lagond All-Stars Perform Sunset Jazz at Lynhurst Castle
Sunset Jazz returns to Lyndhurst for a fifth summer. Concerts are held outdoors either at the Lyndhurst bowling alley hill or around the greenhouse fountain. Watch for the introduction of the Jazz dance party in the greenhouse.
The Lagond All-Stars are a group of serious minded, young musicians who bring events to life with Latin, Jazz, and Funk rhythms. Their eclectic array of songs stems from the traditions of Cannonball Adderley, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Weather Report, Prince and Bruno Mars to name but a few.
The program’s leader, Charlie Lagond, is a world-traveled musician who has performed with bands and artists such as Chet Baker, The Temptations, Buddy Rich, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, The Jackson 5 and more. Twelve years ago he opened Lagond Music School with his wife and sits as the active Musical Director of the school. Lagond Music is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to music education and live music performance.
The Lagond All-Stars have been Lagond Music School’s premier performance ensemble for the past ten years. The many different configurations of the group have had opportunities to travel across the United States and Canada on summer tours, perform at premier clubs in New York City such as B.B. King’s, Terminal 5 and the Bitter End (respectively), and have opened for bands such as The Roots, Darryl Hall, Dispatch and Joan Rivers.
