“DISCOVER JAPAN THROUGH MUSIC”
Harrison Public Library is pleased to announce it is the recipient of a grant for “Discover Japan Through Music,” a unique program offering concerts and musical workshops for all ages.
12:45 to 1:45pm: A duo of koto and shamisen player/vocalist will delight and move you with their fresh take on traditional Japanese instruments.
3:00 to 3:30pm: The history, construction and uniqueness of the Shamisen in Japanese culture.
3:00 to 3:30pm: A hands-on workshop on the shinobue, the Japanese bamboo folk flute.
An Arts Westchester, Arts Alive Project Grant made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the NYS Legislature and administered by Arts Westchester.
