Forbidden Broadway
With a stellar cast, a long history, and non-stop hilarity, Forbidden Broadway is a big, brilliant parody musical revue. The original version launched in 1982 and ran for 2,332 performances in New York. Since then, it’s been taken on the road and rewritten more than a dozen times so it’s always fresh, funny, and up-to-the-minute. It’s been performed more than 9,000 times in hundreds of U.S. cities as well as Tokyo, London, Singapore, and Sydney. The latest edition is the most side-splitting and spectacular yet, with ingenious new takes on Porgy and Bess, Anything Goes, Follies, Spiderman, Book of Mormon, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Once, and Death of a Salesman.
The genius behind the Forbidden Broadway team is Tony-winner Gerard Alessandrini, the man behind the original Forbidden Broadway as well as Forbidden Broadway 2001, Forbidden Broadway Special Victims Unit, Forbidden Broadway Goes to Rehab, and now Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking! Alumni of the company include Jason Alexander, Brad Oscar, Christine Pedi, Bryan Batt, Michael McGrath, Chloe Webb, Barbara Walsh, Ann Morrison, William Selby, and others.
