Satish Joshi “Urbanlights” 2013-2014

   Satish Joshi  “Urbanlights” 2013-2014  Mixed Media on Canvas Blue Door Gallery in Yonkers is pleased to present an exhibition by local artist Satish Joshi from April 24 – May 23, 2014.  

Satish says: When you look at the lights of a city, especially at night, you can also look at the sky, see the full moon and the stars; always, they interact with the city lights surrounding you. There are trees, houses and skyscrapers, the moon, stars, street lamps, building lights. In my Urbanlights Series I have tried to compose a cityscape geometric framework which is superimposed on the skyscape, to give the viewer a different vision of the combined composed and cosmic worlds. These paintings encompass changing seasons; day or night; and angles of view, through which I can explore the natural and manmade sparkle that surrounds us, to watch it all interact.That’s what I’ve tried to do in this Series and for my Susan’s Pond, Light, Reflections, and Elements Series over the past decades.

Regular gallery hours are Thursdays ,Fridays, Saturdays from 12 noon -5:00 pm.  Opening Reception: Saturday May 3, 2:00 – 5:00 pm Closing Reception:  Friday, May 23, 5:00 – 8:00 pm
