Perfect Pastiera

Pastiera, or Grain Pie, often thought of as Italian cheesecake with grain, is a unique dessert with a traditional history. Rose and Marian Carmellino will share with you their mother’s secret recipe for pastiera. Demonstration includes an overview of the basic recipe, discussion of the ingredients needed, where to find them, and how to store them. You will be making your own grain pie to take home and bake just in time for the Holidays. Participants will enjoy a taste of home-made pastiera as well as the traditional macaroni pie. A complimentary glass of wine will be served.
