Eric Jennings presents “My Favorite Sondheim”

|

From his earliest days, including West Side Story and Gypsy, to his greatest (Company, Follies, Sunday in the Park with George, A Little Night Music) and not-as-successful subjects (Assassins, Merrily We Roll Along), few can compare to Sondheim for talent, longevity and the sheer breadth of his work.   We’ll ask, “What makes Sondheim choose his subjects?” and “How can he be so prolific for so many years?  Can the Sondheim style be characterized or will he remain an enigma?”  We’ll do our best to answer these questions, and more in the two-lecture series on two Sunday afternoons. With live and recorded musical accompaniment.  First-come, first-served to the capacity of the Ossie Davis Theater. Suggested donation: $2.00.
