Sports photography is more than just shooting the action. It’s seeing the light and telling stories with your pictures by showcasing the emotion in the athlete’s faces and making clean pictures that jump off the page (or screen) and demand to be looked at.
2023 Mangin Bio
Brad Mangin is a freelance sports photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mangin worked for legendary sports photographer Neil Leifer as a staff photographer at The National Sports Daily in 1990. Mangin freelanced for Sports Illustrated for 25 years and accumulated ten covers. Over his career he has also photographed twenty World Series. Mangin’s most recent book is 28: A Photographic Tribute to Buster Posey (2022). Previously, Mangin published Worth the Wait (2010); Never. Say. Die. (2012); Championship Blood (2014), and Instant Baseball: The Baseball Instagrams of Brad Mangin in 2013. He lives in Pleasanton, California, with his cats Madison and Timmy.
