August Alternative Music Saturdays: Cheick Hamala
Lecturer, storyteller and choreographer Cheick Hamala Diabate has performed in Africa, Europe, Asia, Canada and, recently, the United States. He mixes traditional West African sounds such as the n’goni (a West African lute) with American ones such as the banjo. He has been featured at the Smithsonian Institute, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Fest.
The Museum presents August Alternative Music Saturdays produced in association with the Purple Crayon at the Hudson River Amphitheater. FREE parking & admission.
