Art Workshops for Children
Groundwork Hudson and Blue Door Artist Association will be conducting a series of free children’s workshops every Saturday until August 31st in Van der Donck Park in Yonkers.
EVENTS SCHEDULED FOR THIS SATURDAY – ALL WORKSHOPS ARE FREE
10:30 to 12:00 noon UNDER THE SEA COLLAGRAPHY, with artist Haifa Bint-Kadi Participants will use found objects to create a printing plate inspired by the species of the Hudson and Saw Mill rivers, and the estuary and create a beautiful monotype print on an array of papers that can be framed or used to make cards.
12:30 to 2:00 pm COLLAGES WITH HUDSON RIVER ANIMALS, with Blue Door artist Leslie Miller. Older children (age 8+) will cut out illustrations of threatened and vulnerable animals and learn statistics about the Hudson River Valley animal populations. Participants will draw and paint and use numbers, text and cutouts to create collages.
