MORE THAN MUSIC CONCERT: Autumn in New York

Bronxville, NY – Concordia Conservatory will open its 2025–26 More Than Music series with Autumn in New York on Sunday, November 2 at 4:00 p.m. The concert will be held at the home of Laurie and Hoke Slaughter in Bronxville.
This 45-minute concert-lecture celebrates the spirit and sophistication of New York jazz. Concordia Conservatory faculty artists Samuel Ryder (saxophone), Lee Metcalf (guitar), and Bob Gingery (bass) will perform beloved New York–inspired works by Vernon Duke, Bob Brookmeyer, Wayne Shorter, and Vince Guaraldi.’
“More Than Music concerts offer audiences an intimate look at both performance and our faculty artists,” said Kathleen Suss, Executive Director of Concordia Conservatory. “The program connects great jazz music with storytelling, inviting listeners into the creative experience highlighting our superb faculty in this enchanting time of the year in our beloved New York.”
The More Than Music series combines performance and conversation, engaging audiences with professional musicians in an inviting, informal setting.
