Geoff Carters open studio Day of the Dead party
Day of the Dead / Beaver Moon Open Studio
A year and a half ago, I had a dream —that didn’t make sense at the time. I wrote down what it told me to do, and this event is part of that list. So is the work inside the garage.
Some of what’s in the garage wasn’t on the list, but it’s worth seeing.
In 1999, I went to Mexico to photograph Day of the Dead, but it felt too private, so I took only a few photos and i met some Canadians and we went to the beach. This year, I challenged myself to make a series of large-scale drawings the same way I sketch in my books. The work is about ufo consciousness remote viewing and simple ideas of happiness and death.
I’ll be showing five of these new pieces, along with other things I’ve been working on.
Free drinks and tacos while they last.
It’s happening under the Beaver Moon.
