Concordia Conservatory Presents the Emerson Legacy Concert
Featuring the ESCHER STRING QUARTET
October 24 & 25 in Greenwich, CT and Bronxville, NY
Bronxville, NY and Greenwich, CT — Concordia Conservatory launches the 22nd season of its acclaimed Hoch Chamber Music Series with the Emerson Legacy Concert, featuring the internationally renowned Escher String Quartet with guest violist Lawrence Dutton. Performances will take place on Friday, October 24 at 7:00 pm at The Second Congregational Church in Greenwich, CT (139 E. Putnam Avenue) and on Saturday, October 25 at 7:00 pm at The Reformed Church of Bronxville (180 Pondfield Road).
Celebrated for their profound musical insight and luminous sound, the Escher String Quartet has earned international recognition as a former BBC New Generation Artist and recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant. The ensemble has performed at the BBC Proms at Cadogan Hall, is a frequent guest at London’s Wigmore Hall, and appears regularly in its home city as seasoned artists with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
The Escher String Quartet—Adam Barnett-Hart, violin; Brendan Speltz, violin; Pierre Lapointe, viola; and Brook Speltz, cello—was mentored and championed by the legendary Emerson String Quartet. Their 2025–26 season includes return engagements at leading concert halls and festivals throughout the United States and Europe.
The program will feature a captivating selection of chamber music masterworks:
- Anton Webern: Langsamer Satz for String Quartet
- W.A. Mozart: String Quintet in G minor, K.516
- Franz Schubert: “Death and the Maiden” String Quartet No. 14 in D minor
Now in its 22nd year, the Hoch Chamber Music Series continues Concordia Conservatory’s mission to bring world-class artistry to audiences in Westchester and Fairfield Counties.
