Taghkanic Chorale Seeks Singers for Fall Season
The Taghkanic Chorale invites prospective singers to its opening rehearsal on Tuesday,
Sept 2 at 7 pm until 9:30 pm in Yorktown Heights.
‘We welcome singers of all skill levels to share the joy of singing great choral music,’ says Jason Tramm, the Chorale’s music director. Rehearsals are held at the First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown at 2880 Crompond Rd (Rt. 202), every Tuesday, in the main sanctuary. Prospective singers can attend initial rehearsals with no obligation to join.
The Fall season features Handel’s Dixit Dominus, the 6th cantata from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, and motets from Praetorius, Brahms, and Mendelssohn. Concert performances are December 13-14 at St. Columbanus in Cortlandt Manor. Thanks to a generous grant from the New York Community Trust, the program-entitled ” Rejoice and Sing! Choral Masterworks for the Season”- will be accompanied by a sizable orchestra of professional musicians performing on period instruments
