Harrison Public Library presents “Field of Intuition – New Works Exploring Nature, Memory, and Form” by Vildan Starr

Exhibition is on display October 5, 2025 to October 31, 2025.

Gallery is open to the public during regular library hours.

Artist’s Statement: I create intuitive abstract paintings that express emotion through movement, color, and texture. My process is spontaneous and rooted in feeling—often echoing nature’s rhythms, inner landscapes, and the layered complexity of memory. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, I build depth and fluidity with each mark, inviting viewers to interpret freely. My goal is to offer glimpses of joy, hope, and connection through authentic, expressive abstraction.

About the Artist: Vildan Starr is a Westchester-based visual artist and practicing attorney in New York City. A lifelong painter, she shifted her focus to intuitive abstraction in 2020, creating vibrant, emotionally resonant compositions. Starr’s process is guided by intuition and movement rather than fixed outcomes. She builds each piece through gestural mark-making, contrasting transparencies, and fluid shapes that evoke transformation and hope. She has studied with leading contemporary artists and exhibited widely across the tri-state area. Her work has been selected for juried shows by curators affiliated with the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 2025, Starr was selected for the 108th Annual Exhibition at the Greenwich Art Society, juried by Kelly Long, Senior Curatorial Assistant at the Whitney Museum. She maintains an active studio practice and continues to evolve her voice through exhibitions, critique, and exploration.
