Reverse Drawing & Abstract Collage

Explore the Art of Transfer Drawing & Mixed-Media Collage! Inspired by the expressive line work of Paul Klee and Oscar Murillo, this unique two-session workshop introduces the printmaking-inspired technique of transfer drawing—a fascinating method of mark-making that requires no printing press!

What to Expect:

• Session 1: Learn the transfer drawing process, an intuitive and experimental technique that allows you to create bold, gestural lines and expressive textures. You’ll produce multiple drawings, exploring spontaneous mark-making and composition.
• Session 2: Transform your drawings into dynamic abstract collages by incorporating magazine papers, acrylics, and watercolors. Experiment with layering, color, and texture to create a one-of-a-kind mixed-media artwork.

This hands-on workshop includes demonstrations, guided exercises, and individual feedback to help you develop your artistic voice. All levels are welcome! Bring your own paints and papers (see materials list). Pelham Art Center will provide all materials needed for transfer drawing.
