“A Night in Budapest” – Hoch Chamber Music Concert
Concordia Conservatory presents the closing concert of its 2023-24 Hoch Chamber Music Series, “A Night in Budapest” on Saturday, April 6 at the Reformed Church of Bronxville.
The concert will feature Johannes Brahms’ String Sextet No. 2 in G major, Opus 36 performed by Hoch Chamber Music Series, Artistic Director, Lawrence Dutton playing first viola, along with his wife Elizabeth Lim-Dutton on first violin. Joining the Duttons are long-time Conservatory faculty Emanouil Manolov, violin II, Junah Chung, viola II, Estelle Choi, cello I and Zhihao Wu, cello II.
The Brahms’ work has four movements:
I. Allegro non troppo (G major)
II. Scherzo – Allegro non troppo – Presto giocoso (G minor)
III. Adagio (E minor)
IV. Poco allegro (G major)
In addition to this performance in Bronxville, for the first time, our Hoch Chamber Music Concert will also be performed at the Conservatory’s Stamford, CT location in St. John’s Church, 884 Newfield Ave, Stamford, CT 06905
