Black History Month Concert: Amadi Azikiwe and Mikael Darmanie

Young Musicians of Westchester (YMW) presents a concert in celebration of Black History Month featuring Amadi Azikiwe and Mikael Darmanie. The performance will include Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 9. Known as the “Kreutzer Sonata,” the piece was written for and premiered by the Black violinist George Bridgetower (1778-1860). The concert will also feature works by Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson (1932-2004) Jessie Montgomery (b. 1981) and David Baker (1913-2016)
