Houston Person Quartet
Nothing, it seems, stops Houston Person, the reigning King of the Boss Tenor who is now in his sixth decade of performing. His latest record (he’s released over 85 of them), Reminiscing At Rudy’s, topped the Jazz Week airplay chart in January and February.
His tone has gotten bigger even as his delivery has mellowed. A great friend of The Jazz Forum — he’s played in the Jazz Forum All-Stars – Houston is a master’s master.
