A remarkable pianist with a remarkable story, Tadataka Unno moved from Japan to the US and was mentored by the late jazz giant Hank Jones. He performed with countless greats like Jimmy Cobb and Roy Hargrove before suffering injuries in a hate crime during Covid that rendered him unable to play.

Following surgery and lengthy rehab, he returned to the piano and recorded 2022’s excellent Get My Mojo Back, which became Japan’s top-selling jazz album.
