OPEN AUDITION: The Nutcracker, with Westchester Ballet Company

The fall audition is the entry point for dancers to join Westchester Ballet Company. If selected, a dancer receives an invitation to join the Company, is placed in a ranked position in the Company, and is offered a role/roles in The Nutcracker, along with the opportunity to audition for other productions during the Company’s spring season. 

Eligibility: Open to all dancers, ages 6 to 18

First-time participants are eligible for scholarships that can be applied to participation fees or ballet classes at the school of the recipient’s choosing.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 23
LOCATION: Tarrytown, NY
Registrants will be notified of the Tarrytown location once dancer’s registration is received.
Beginner, Advanced Beginner, and Intermediate level dancers, boys and girls, 6-14 years old. For dancers who are NOT yet dancing on pointe.

1:30 pm—Beginner & Intermediate Boys; ages 6-10
Dancers at this level may be asked to stay for a later audition.

2:00 pm—Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Girls and Boys; ages 10-14
Dancers at this level may be asked to stay for a later audition.

3:00 pm—Intermediate Beginner Girls; ages 8-10

3:30 pm – 4:00 pm—Beginner Girls; ages 6-9

ABOUT WESTCHESTER BALLET COMPANY

Westchester Ballet Company is a 73-year-old nonprofit organization with the mission of creating professional-level performance opportunities for young dancers and for providing affordable access to the arts in our community.

Company auditions are open to all dancers, ages 6 -18, no matter where they receive their dance instruction, as long as they meet the training requirements set by the Company.

Dancing with the Company requires that a dancer be enrolled in a requisite level and number of weekly ballet classes at the school of the dancer’s choosing and that they attend all required Westchester Ballet Company rehearsals for the roles in which they are cast. Participation fees apply. Details regarding requirements and fees are outlined in the Audition Guide. Dancers may apply for financial assistance once they have been invited into the Company.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Pre-registration for the fall auditions is required and must be received by Saturday, September 16, 2023.

Dancers should arrive 30 minutes before their audition time and should have some flexibility in their schedule in case auditions run over the allotted time.
