Le Consort
A major presence on the French baroque scene, Le Consort consists of two violinists, a cellist and a harpsichordist. This quartet takes chamber music from the 17th and 18th centuries and interprets it with a person, dynamic and colorful language. They will be treating us to a whirlwind tour through Italy, England, Germany and France, illustrating the immense expressive range and creativity of Bach, Vivaldi, Corelli, Purcell, Rameau and others. The program features two magnificent settings of “Follia,” the era’s most recognizable melody and one that still resonates today.
