Opening Reception
Clay Art Center is pleased to present Functional Fall: A Seat At The Table, a juried exhibition of functional ceramics from over 40 artists across the US. This exhibition was Guest Juried by Jessica Putnam-Phillips and brings everyone to the table through ceramics that serve. Please join us for an Opening Reception on Saturday, September 9th, from 6-8pm. Meet participating artists, enjoy light refreshments and be there for the announcement of juror prizes!
A concurrent Opening Reception will take place for Vick Quezada: Remains To Be Seen. “Stainless Remains” is part of the “Remains To Be Seen” series, which began in 2018 and is an ongoing project. “Stainless Remains” is designed after the cafeteria trays found at Fort Hood in Texas. As Quezada begins to build this collection they aim to create over 5000 ceramic pieces modeled after specific institutional dining ware from the borderlands, and Texas. “Stainless Remains” is comprised of ten pieces presented at Clay Art Center as a concurrent exhibition in our gallery highlighting Hispanic Heritage Month.
