Fan Painting and Mounting Workshop
This special event will include a lecture by Professor, Dr. Mark Setton.
His talk entitled “Chinese philosophy through the lens of Chinese art” will give an overview of the major philosophical ideologies of China and how they can be seen and connected through Chinese art. In the second segment. Sungsook will conduct a demonstration and give instruction in the art of Asian fan painting. Students will have the opportunity to create their own fan painting and will learn to mount them on a special backing paper. A materials list will be provided upon registration.
