Leading a Creative Workshop with Misty Yarnall (In person at HVWC)

Leading a Creative Workshop
Saturday, July 22, 12:30-2:30
IN PERSON
Are you a teaching artist ready to build community and learn new tips and tricks to engage participants in your workshops? In this intensive, we will focus on ways to incorporate prompts, worksheets, readings, and videos, learn new generative exercises, emphasize process over product, create brave learning spaces for participants, and find a balance between independent working time, discussion, and lecture. Perfect for teachers, after-school programs, community events, and more!
Misty Yarnall received her BA in Creative Writing from Purchase College. She is a member of the Teaching Artist Institute of Rochester and has facilitated workshops for writers of all ages through nonprofit organizations such as Writers & Books, the Howard County Arts Council, Best Buddies, the REV Theatre Company, the Bedford Hills Public Library, Wild Roof Literary Journal, and the Hudson Valley Writers Center. She is currently the Administrative and Communications Coordinator and the Youth Programs Coordinator at the Hudson Valley Writers Center.
