NEA Jazz Master Billy Hart Quartet feat. Ethan Iverson

One the leading drummers of his generation, Billy Hart continues to make jazz history with his quartet. After backing numerous legends like Shirley Horn, Jimmy Smith and Wes Mongomery in the ‘60s, Billy leaped to the forefront of the ’70s fusion movement with Herbie Hancock’s Mwandishi band, then joined Miles Davis.

The New Yorker called his outstanding quartet “an exemplary post-bop band whose excellent recordings offer only a taste of what it achieves live.”
