Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra, Young Artists Concerto Competition Concert
Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra | 44th Annual Young Artists Concerto Competition Concert
Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra presents a gala concert featuring the winners of its 44th Annual Young Artists Concerto Competition. These outstanding young musicians join the orchestra in an exciting and varied program led by guest conductor Stephen Huang. Repertoire extends from the Baroque to the Modern era, with concertos by Bach, Beethoven, Grieg and Arutiunian, along with Bizet’s brilliantly virtuosic Carmen Fantasy, arranged for flute. The competition is open to students residing or studying in Westchester county and offers monetary prizes along with the chance to perform with the orchestra, playing a significant role in the development of these young performers careers. Many of the past recipients have gone on to enjoy careers in music.
