Saving Southern Italy begins during the late stages of covid, when filmmaker Valarie D’Elia returned to the land of her Italian ancestry looking to find a home to buy and renovate. Along the way, she shepherds other ex-pats through the challenging, yet rewarding, process of honoring their roots.
