TACONIC OPERA: The one and only Handel’s Messiah, Coton-on-Hudson, Dec. 10 & 11

As part of its 25th Anniversary celebration, Taconic Opera invites you to its very first December holiday concert, performing the oratorio that has survived almost 3 centuries since first presented in Dublin in 1742: George Frideric Handel’s magnificent Messiah. No need to go to Carnegie Hall when you can hear it practically in your own back yard.

Conducted by the company’s Artistic Director, Dan Montez, the program will include professional soloists and the Taconic Opera Orchestra and Chorus.  Hear the Messiah in a whole new way – not as sung by soloists and chorus, but as sung by opera soloists and an opera chorus.

This masterwork in English, from the Baroque period of music, still thrills audiences worldwide and remains a quintessential holiday concert favorite. You will want to stand and sing Hallelujah with the whole audience!

Two weekend matinee concerts will be given in central Westchester: Sat., Dec. 10, and Sun., Dec. 11, 3 pm, Holy Name of Mary Church, 110 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson.  This beautiful venue is handicap accessible and ideally suited for live sacred music of this caliber due to its acoustical and architectural properties.

Looking forward to having you join us for this wonderful event.
